Just recently our wonderful and much loved 9 month old German Shepherd puppy got sick – real sick. One morning we woke to find him staying in his bed, looking too tired to move. He wouldn’t eat or drink or get up. He looked sad and bewildered not knowing what was happening. He vomited when we gave him anything to eat or drink. For two brutal days. Tina researched everything under the sun online and called several vets for advice, and drove an hour to the first one with the puppy in the back of the pickup truck.
They did many tests for many dollars and said “we don’t know what is wrong.” He still wasn’t eating and getting thinner every day. Using a turkey baster we fed him chicken broth and water an ounce at a time. Somehow Tina convinced a very nice naturopath vet to come to our farm. She stopped and gave the dog (take out and put in gave Rocky an IV of electrolite fluids and showed me how to do it more, treating him for dehydration. The dog looked like he would close his eyes and pass on at any moment. We were so heartbroken and wracked with sadness.
